Vidarbha start with win

 

 

Vidarbha boys started their Under-19 Vinoo Mankad campaign on a winning note as they defeated Saurashtra by three wickets in their opening league match of Group B at the Jamia Milia Islamia Ground in Delhi on Friday. Vidarbha bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals after Saurashtra won the toss and decided to bat first. Sarthak Dhabadgaonkar (2-41) and Sanskar Chavate (3-24) were the pick of the Vidarbha bowlers as they helped their team dismiss Saurashtra for 183 in the One-Day game. Shree Choudhary (26) and Tushar Kadu (24) gave Vidarbha a bright start as the duo added 42 runs for the first wicket. Kadu then joined forces with Tushar Suryavanshi (38) to add another 41 runs and lay a good platform for the chase.

 

Shreyansh Gupta top-scored with 39 as Vidarbha prevailed over their opponents with 11 balls and three wickets to spare. Vidarbha will next take on Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.
