Lauds strategy, intelligence network, collaboration

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his team during a crucial meeting of Chief Ministers from Naxal-affected states held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday. Shah praised the effective steps taken by the Chhattisgarh Government to eradicate Naxalism and congratulated CM Sai and his team. Shah stated that the Chhattisgarh Government is performing exceptionally well on the Naxal front, leading to unprecedented success in operations against Naxals. He highlighted the shift from a defensive to an aggressive strategy, crediting the ‘double-engine government’ for accelerating development work in Naxal-affected areas and bringing people back into the mainstream. During the meeting, Shah specifically mentioned the recent encounter in which Chhattisgarh Police eliminated 31 Naxals.

He commended the excellent co-ordination and intelligence gathering of Chhattisgarh Police, DRG and Bastar Battalion, which led to the successful operation. This, he said, is a prime example of the Chhattisgarh Government’s strategy, intelligence network, and collaboration with central forces. Shah further stated, “the Chhattisgarh Government has made remarkable progress in its fight against Naxalism. In the last nine months, over 194 Maoists have been killed, more than 800 Naxals have been arrested and 738 Naxals surrendered. This is a historic achievement. The efforts of Chief Minister Sai and his team are commendable.” Amit Shah also emphasised the Central Government’s commitment to providing all possible assistance to Chhattisgarh and other Naxal-affected states to promote peace and development in these regions.

He noted that the Chhattisgarh Government has launched a new development campaign in Naxal-affected villages, bringing development to rural areas. It has also successfully disrupted the financial support of Naxals. Shah recalled the recent meeting he had with senior police and paramilitary officials in Chhattisgarh, where he engaged in detailed discussions with them aimed at bringing the Naxal issue to a decisive and logical conclusion.
