Under Swachh Survekshan 2024, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is carrying out a special cleanliness and public awareness campaign across the city to improve air quality.
Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh and Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav have asked all concerned officials to work on-ground to maintain consistent air quality improvement. They issued strict orders to officials, emphasizing that all necessary measures must be firmly implemented to ensure that the city’s air quality remains unaffected.
Sambhav Ayachi, National Clean Air Program Nodal Officer along with Health Officer Sandeep Jaiswal continuously monitoring the CAQMS stations in different areas to improve air quality. They informed that the JMC is also using mechanized road sweeping machines in two shifts to reduce dust on roads and is making efforts along main roads with sanitation workers and litter pickers. To control airborne dust particles, water is sprayed using water cannons and citizens are also being urged not to burn waste or scatter debris on roads. These efforts are aim to enhance the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI). The Municipal Commissioner has directed all concerned senior officials and employees to ensure these measures are executed consistently and smoothly.
