Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh inspected the Strong Room, Polling Material Distribution Centers, and SST Check Posts set-up in the Budhni constituency on Friday in view of the November 13 by-election for the Budhni Assembly seat. While inspecting the SST check posts at TTC and Narmada Bridge, Divisional Commissioner Singh gave instructions to the SST team, emphasising that no suspicious vehicle should pass without thorough checking. He ordered that any unaccounted cash, illegal substances, or items that could potentially influence the election process should be seized immediately. He also emphasised that the general public should not face any inconvenience during the checks. He instructed the SST team to strictly follow the Election Commission’s guidelines and take prompt action against any violations of the Model Code of Conduct. During the inspection of the polling material distribution center, the Divisional Commissioner instructed officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements were in place for the smooth conduct of the election process.
 
He specifically focused on ensuring that CCTV cameras were operational, vehicle parking was organised, arrangements for polling teams were made, and adequate provisions for drinking water and medical facilities were ensured. He directed that CCTV cameras should be continuously monitored and that security should be maintained across the entire premises. Divisional Commissioner Singh also inspected the polling stations set up at the Government Girls School and the Forest Department’s SDO office. During the inspection, he checked the facilities at the polling stations and instructed officials to ensure that all necessary facilities were provided as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. He emphasised the need for provisions such as drinking water, electricity, fans, furniture, ramps for differently-abled voters, access routes, toilets, cleanliness, and wheelchairs for disabled voters at each polling station. The Divisional Commissioner emphasised that all preparations should be completed on time while ensuring transparency and fairness in the election process. During the inspection, Collector Praveen Singh and SP Deepak Kumar Shukla provided detailed information regarding the voting preparations and other election-related activities. In addition to inspecting the polling stations, Singh also observed the mock poll process. The inspection was attended by Returning Officer D S Tomar, Tehsildar Saurabh Verma, Zilla Panchayat CEO Devesh Sarathe, and other officials.
