The journey of Recovery be it mental or physical is often linked to prescribing drug , coping mechanisms from pains or temporary relief and treatment. But the role of emotions, especially positive ones, is often underestimated. Positive emotions such as hope, joy, gratitude and love are not the only outcome of recovery; they actively contribute to it. These thoughts help build strength, support healing and can make recovery powerful and rewarding. Emotions are the foundation of hope and are essential for driving change and perseverance. Emotions such as hope and gratitude allow people to see beyond immediate challenges and envision a life of happiness. This vision is especially important for people with long-term health issues because it shifts the focus from managing symptoms to a meaningful life purpose and happiness. And in case of some illness like diabetes ,pcos they cannot be completely reversed, but they can only be maintained in such case, positive emotion,plays a huge role in making sure that condition is not getting worse Despite of the inability to reverse, the person will still engage in healthy lifestyle choices because of their positive emotion Barbara Fredrickson’s “Broaden and Build” theory shows how positive thinking broadens our ability to perceive and makes us open to new ideas and experiences.
