Prof Singh emphasised the importance of this research, stating, “The selection of Dr Deepti Dabar’s project for this prestigious grant by ICMR is a testament to AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to impactful research that positively influences the most vulnerable sections of society. This project not only enhances our institution’s academic and research growth but also reflects our responsibility to support holistic health and development in marginalised communities. Such initiatives have the potential to bring about lasting changes in healthcare and child development, and we commend Dr Dabar and her team for their efforts.”

As stated by the institute, under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Professor (Dr) Ajai Singh, the institute continuously promotes a culture of academic excellence and knowledge-sharing among faculty and students. The project focuses on improving developmental outcomes for disadvantaged children in urban, rural, and tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh. Through a mixed-methods intervention study, the project will identify strategies that can promote the health and overall development of children in these underserved communities. Practical interventions will be developed and implemented through this research to bring about positive changes in the lives of children facing socio-economic challenges. The selection of this project for the ICMR grant marks a significant milestone in AIIMS Bhopal’s impactful research journey. This initiative is expected to provide valuable insights that will not only improve the lives of disadvantaged children but also set a benchmark for health and development programs across the country.
