The annual youth festival Oriana 2024 has commenced at AIIMS Raipur. The event was officially inaugurated by Lt Gen (Retd) Ashok Jindal, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, who lit the ceremonial lamp.
In his address, he stated, “Oriana 2024 not only provides a platform to showcase the talents and creativity of students but also serves as an inspiring space for their personal and professional growth. This festival fosters confidence, leadership, and a sense of community among students, which are essential for the future.” He extended his best wishes for the success of the event and also unveiled the Student Magazine and Souvenir Booklet.
Spanning four days, the festival will bring together medical students from various colleges and academic institutions across the state to showcase their talents in a wide array of competitions. Events will include dance and music contests, art creation, painting, rangoli, poetry recitation, quizzes, sports, and other exciting activities. Each evening will feature captivating performances by renowned Bollywood, music, and art celebrities.
The festival began with a cultural performance by the college’s Music and Drama Club, followed by a comedy show by popular stand-up comedian Praneet More and a musical performance by the Sabali Band. On Friday A La Mode fashion show took place, featuring an electrifying set by DJ Crispy. On November 16 and 17, famous singers Amit Trivedi and Mithoon will mesmerise the audience with their live music shows.
Prof (Dr) Sarita Agrawal, Chairperson of the Oriana Committee, addressing the gathering said, “Oriana 2024 focuses on the overall development of students and underscores the importance of balancing discipline and enjoyment throughout the fest.”
Ankur Poonia, Member Secretary of Oriana 2024, shared that the event has registered a total of 2500 participants from outside the AIIMS campus, including students from other AIIMS and various states across the country. The inaugural ceremony was graced by senior faculty members of AIIMS Raipur.
