WITH two late second half goals, defending champions Rabbani Club, Kamptee defeated Nagpur Blues 2-0 in the ongoing JSW-NDFA Elite Division League Tournament at Dr Ambedkar Stadium in Suyog Nagar on Sunday.
Both teams tried hard but could not find the target as first half did not yield any goals. The match was brought to life in the 84th minute of play when Md Rizwan scored the opening goal. Five minutes later, Md Owais sealed fate of the match making it 2-0 for the winners in 89th minute. For the winners, Md Junaid (33rd), and Nagpur Blues’ Stanley Peter (24th) and Md Azam (87th) were cautioned.
Young Boys
record facile win
Young Boys recorded a facile 4-1 win over Orange City in the JSW NDFA Senior Division Football Tournament. Faizan (29th, 70th) scored one on either side of the half while Tajsheel added two more in 56th & 60th minutes of play to make it 4-0 for the winners at one time. Orange City’s Himanshu Raut reduced the margin scoring a goal in the 83rd minute.
Young Boys’ Mujiban Rahman, Majid Jamal and Tajsheel were flashed with the yellow card. Orange City’s Md Saaim and Kapish Nahak were also cautioned while goalkeeper Md Raza was given the marching order with a straight red in the 32nd minute of play.
Sportian blank Pinnacle
In the Maharashtra Under-17 State Youth I League Football Tournament, Sportian Football Club Nagpur blanked Pinnacle Youth Sports 2-0.
Abhimanyu Bojne stunned the rival as early as in the third minute of play scoring the first goal of the match. The score remained 1-0 at the break. Four minutes into the second half, Azaan Khan scored the second in 49th minute to make it 2-0.
