THE Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) onMonday registered 86 new cases against the citizens for illegally disposing of waste, spitting and urinating in public places. The nuisance detection squad of the municipal body collected a fine worth Rs 45,700 from the violators. Thesquad tookaction againstvegetable sellers, vendors for dumping garbage in open places, using banned plastic bags, sellersoccupying footpaths and thoseillegally utilizing public places.
 
Malls, restaurants, lodges, hotels, cinema halls, marriage halls, catering service providers, were on the radar of the authorities from whom the authorities collectedfine.Theauthoritiesalsocollected a fine of Rs 5,000 from M/s Frullato Thick Shakes under the Dharampeth Zone for dumping waste by the side of the road. Similarly,in theDhantoliZone, theauthorities collected a fine of Rs 10,000 from a building under construction.The owners have dump building construction materialon theroad.Theactionwas takenunder theleadership ofVirsenTambe of the nuisance detection squad of the civic body. For the past few days, themunicipal body hasbeen takingstrong action againstsuch violations.
