Nagpur witnessing rise in number of skyscrapers

ORANGE City, once dominated by single-storey households and bungalows surrounded by verandahs and gardens, is now witnessing a dramatic shift in its skyline. High-rise buildings are transforming the city’s landscape and aspirations of home seekers in growing numbers. Leading builders and developers in the region are riding this wave with innovative and ambitious projects. There are six to seven multistorey state-of-the-art commercial and residential housing projects shaping up in different strategic locations that are redefining luxury living. With 31 floors, Kukreja Infinity, a premium residential project in Civil Lines, built by Kukreja Infrastructures, is the tallest building in Central India. The high-rise building offers luxurious apartments with top-notch amenities. The project is complete and the occupants are enjoying world class amenities and breathtaking views from the high rise. Kukreja Infrastructures is also coming of with a 31-storey building, ‘The One’, in the same area.

The project is under construction. Paris City, another mega project of the builder is coming up for those who desire more space and grandeur. Once completed, the Paris City project will have three towers each of 29 floors and 34 floors. Kukreja Embassy in Byramji Town is another high-rise project of the builder with 20 floors. In addition to this, the builder is also building four towers of 27 floors each in the existing Kukreja Anandam City located in Ganeshpeth area. Shravan Kukreja, Managing Director of Kukreja Infrastructures, told ‘The Hitavada’ that growing opportunities in various sectors in and around Nagpur are attracting young professionals seeking modern living spaces.“Affordable land within city limits is becoming scarce, making vertical development a logical solution. Additionally, changing lifestyles and aspirations have created a demand for luxurious amenities and panoramic views, which high-rise buildings readily offer,” he said. The upcoming Jayanti Nagari 7 by Abhijit Realtors & Infraventures Private Limited in Manish Nagar is a six-tower project of 27 floors each. It offers 1,300 flats with state-of-the-art amenities.

“The project is spread over 15 acres of land out of which the buildings are occupying only 20 per cent space. On the rest of the 80 per cent available space, we are developing all the modern amenities. Most home seekers are preferring flats on top floors than those on the lower ones,” said Abhijit Majumdar, Managing Director of the company. Similarly, Mittal Group is coming up with a 27-floor luxury apartment scheme - ‘Atlantis’ - located near Hazaripahad Bus Stop in Seminary Hills. The apartments are being designed to deliver ultimate comfort.

It will have an infinity swimming pool on the 20th floor, first-of-its-kind facility in the region. Nitin Agrawal, Director of Mittal Group, said the occupants can experience the best in class experience. “The panoramic view from the building is beyond one’s imagination. It is attracting a large number of people,” he said. Real estate experts accepted that the trend for high-rises is fast catching up due to the benefits involved in skyscrapers. “Building upwards optimises land usage, creating more space for greenery and public amenities within city limits and thus the trend is fast catching up here,” they concluded.
