From the lively streets of the city to the tranquil ghats of river Narmada in Gwarighat, Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour throughout Sanskardhani, on Thursday. Jabalpurians engaged wholeheartedly in traditional rituals, from performing Laxmi Puja to bursting crackers. People immersing themselves in the festival's vibrant atmosphere. People also flocked to temples to worship the God, Goddess as well as celebrated the auspices festival of light at home. Streets and homes across Sanskardhani sparkled with colorful lights, while bursts of crackers filled the night sky, adding to the festive joy.

 

The Festival of Lights is a five- day long celebration of our Indian culture. In Jabalpur, people have already celebrated Dhanteras, on 29th and Diwali on 31st. Now they are celebrating Govardhan Puja and Annakoot. Meanwhile, greetings and well-wishes are pouring in for citizens from every section of the society including political leaders and public figures are extending best wishes on the festive eve. City buildings are also adorned with vibrant lights and diyas lined doorsteps. People dressed in traditional attire are exchanging sweets, gifts and greetings. It may be noted that Diwali, one of the most cherished Hindu festivals, commemorates the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman after 14 years in exile and the defeat of demon king Ravana. It symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. To celebrate the occasion, throughout the city, homes were adorned with diyas, lights and beautiful rangoli designs. People gathered in celebration, bringing hope, unity and prosperity.
