THE Nagpur South-West
Assembly constituency witnesseda good percentage of voting-54.49 percent on Wednesday
whichis four per centmore than
whatithadregisteredinlastpolls.
The finally tally at 5 pm will keep
changing as the last figure was
not released by district administration.
This constituency did not have
rebellion and it was a straight
fight between Congress’ Praful
Gudadhe and BJP’s Devendra
Fadnavis.
The voting per centage of this
constituency was 56.4 in 2014
which had gone down to 50.5%
in 2019 polls. On Wednesday
there is a surge in the voting per
centage by 4.
People started queuing up for
voting from 7 am, with initial
turnout of 8.92 per cent till 9 am.
By 11 am, the voting increased
to 19.91 per cent,reaching 31.12
per cent by 1 pm, and 41.76 per
cent by 3 pm.
This good trend of
voting continued for the whole
day andby 5 pm it reached 51.54
per cent.
Polling stations in areas like
Jaitala,SubhashNagar,HBEstate,
Sahakar Nagar, Khamla etc saw
a good turnout throughout the
day.Theoverallprocesswasconducted smoothly without any
major incidents.
There were no toomany complaints from voters about missing names. Some people did
come as they did not find their
names. They were helped by the
officers so that they should not miss casting their votes.
