Large voter turnout, especially of women voters, reflects favourable trend for the alliance, says Dy CM 
 
“RISE in voting percentage hasalways supported Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In this Assembly polls, Maharashtra witnessed increased voting. It will defenately help the BJP-led Mahayuti,” said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP candidate from Nagpur South West constituency for the fourth time, Fadnavis was speaking to mediapersons after polling, on Wednesday.
 
“The kind of trend observed this time has been reassuring for us. People in large number came out and exercised their franchise,” added Fadnavis. Fadnavis expressed hope about an increase in voting percentage and highlighted improvement in arrangements at the polling stations this time compared to previous elections. Fadnavis also said that unlike the Lok Sabha elections held in May 2024, there were no reasons like scorching heat to affect the voter turnout. Usually, the State witnesses fluctuation of five to six per cent between turnout of male and female voters. This time, participation of more number of women voters will make a difference, he said. “In democracy, you have certain expectations from the Government.
 
Those who exercise their franchise earn greater right to press fortheir demands,” asserted Fadnavis On the incident of attack on former Home Minister and seniorNCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh, Fadnavis said,“The incident shouldbe seriously investigated and a clear report should come out in thepublic domain. We also want to ascertain the motive of the attackers and know what exactly happened,” said Fadnavis. 
 
Fadnavis visits RSS Hq
 
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis, on Wednesday evening, visited Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur. His visit to RSS headquarters immediately after the voting for the State Assembly polls sparked speculations. Highly placed sources said, Fadnavis called on RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat. During the meet- ing, former Sarkaryawah and member of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Mandal, Bhaiyyaji Joshi also was present. Fadnavis was at the RSS headquarters for around 15 to 20 minutes.
