BMC custodian irked over filth; initiates action against nine employees

During the morning inspection, Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan on Saturday adopted a strict attitude on finding the cleanliness system unsatisfactory in various areas, setting fire to garbage and green waste, negligence in cleanliness related works and not following the instructions being given repeatedly. He issued show cause notices to the nodal officer of a ward, two in-charge health officers, two assistant health officers.
 
Along with this, a sub-inspector has been suspended with immediate effect and instructions have been given to deduct 15 days’ salary of three other sub-inspectors and a cleanliness supervisor. Narayan also gave instructions to immediately remove the garbage and C&D (construction and demolition) waste lying on the roads and public places, to get the central verge repaired and painted as per the requirement, to immediately clear the grass and garbage lying on the grounds.
 
The Municipal Commissioner also got a spot fine of Rs 1,000 imposed on the person who set fire to garbage near Kali Bari and got the fire extinguished by pouring water in his presence. Municipal Commissioner Narayan conducted a surprise inspection of the cleanliness system on Saturday morning and adopted a strict attitude for not finding the cleanliness system satisfactory, burning garbage and green waste, negligence in work, not following the instructions being given repeatedly and directed to take action against the following officers/employees. Assistant Health Officer Zone No. 14 Rakesh Sharma, In-charge Health Officer and Assistant Health Officer Zone No. 21 Rajiv Saxena and Assistant Health Officer Zone No. 06 Vashudev Udeniya and Assistant Health Officer Zone No. 11 J P Tomar and also directed to suspend Ward No. 60 Daroga Trishul Tunaiya. He also directed to deduct 15 days’ salary of Ward 76 Daroga Vijay Balue, Ward 50 Daroga Ranjit Karosia, Ward 51 Daroga Ranjit Marothia and Ward 45 MP Nagar Zone-02 Supervisor Pankaj Kunde. During inspection, Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan directed in person and through Video Conferencing (VC) that the garbage lying around the houses and grounds of St Xavier School BHEL area should be removed immediately and the drain behind AIIMS should be cleaned and the central verge should also be repaired and painted as per requirement. He also directed to immediately remove the grass and garbage from the grounds and get it cleaned in a better manner. Corporation Commissioner directed all Assistant Health Officers to monitor the cleaning work in a better manner and if garbage is found burning anywhere in the city, strict action will be taken.
