In a heart-warming initiative led by Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, about 2,000 students from Jabalpur Municipal Corporation schools, 40 visually impaired girls from a special school and 175 children from Gaurighat Parag Coaching were treated to a screening of the Ramayana-inspired movie
“Singham Again” at Samdareeya Mall, on Saturday.
The event was part of the “ Mahapour Gurukul” programme aimed at enriching the lives of students.
Expressing concern for the future of these children, the Mayor stated that his sole objective is to ensure that all JMC school students achieve excellence through the Mahapour Gurukul programme. He wished these children carve a unique identity in society by integrating cultural values into their lives and reaching great heights in their endeavours.
Speaking further, Mayor Singh highlighted the significance of such experiences, saying “Watching a film rooted in devotion, culture and history in such a joyful and stress-free environment will enhance the students’ general knowledge while promoting a sense of devotion in their hearts.
”
He also announced an exciting reward for academic excellence. Five students who achieve top ranks in school examinations from among the 2,000 students of the Mahapour Gurukul programme will be offered an air travel experience.
Prominent amongst those also present on the occasion were MP Ashish Dubey, Prabhat Sahu, Asha Gotia, Rammurti Mishra, Mayor-in-Council members, Corporators and others.
