In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old woman, Shivani Chauhan, was arrested by the TT Nagar police in Bhopal for impersonating an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) on Saturday. The accused, a resident of Indore, was caught wearing a police uniform and badge, and was found to be carrying a fake identity card. According to police, when the police came to arrest her, she said,

“Don’t arrest me, will come as Additional SP next year when my results will be announced.” According to the police, Shivani had arrived at the TT Nagar police station on Friday evening, claiming to be an ASP, and began interacting with the head constable. However, the station in-charge, Sunil Bhadoriya, became suspicious when he noticed that the badge on her uniform had a different number than the one on her identity card.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Shivani had purchased the police uniform, belt, and shoes from a store in Indore, and had even created a fake badge. She had learned about the design and details of the ASP uniform by watching videos on YouTube. Shivani, who claims to have cleared the UPSC mains exam, was arrested and a case was registered against her. She was later released on bail. This incident is not the first of its kind in Bhopal, as a few days ago, a fake police officer was caught in the MP Nagar area. The police have urged citizens to be cautious and report any suspicious activities to prevent such incidents in the future. The incident highlights the importance of verifying the authenticity of individuals claiming to be law enforcement officers, and the need for citizens to be vigilant in reporting any suspicious activities.
