The path for the introduction of 100 electric buses in Raipur city under the Prime Minister’s e-Bus Service Scheme has been cleared. As per the vision of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Raipur Urban Public Service Society, the designated implementation agency under the scheme, has been granted administrative approval and permission to invite tenders for civil infrastructure for the bus depot. The approval includes a central share of Rs 8.60 crore, a proportional state share of Rs 5.73 crore, and Rs 12.90 crore for BTM power infrastructure, amounting to a total of Rs 27.23 crore.

The State Urban Development Agency, Chhattisgarh, has issued orders in this regard. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao, Raipur is set to receive the remarkable gift of 100 electric buses soon. To facilitate this, a charging system will be installed at the Amanaka Bus Depot, where electrical works are progressing steadily. The swift implementation of the Prime Minister’s E-Bus Service Scheme is expected to reduce air pollution in Raipur city, providing significant benefits to the residents. The residents will soon witness the direct positive impact of Vishnu Deo Sai’s good governance through the operation and execution of this scheme. Following the orders of Collector and Ex-Officio Chairman of the Raipur Urban Public Service Society, Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh, and as per the instructions of Municipal Commissioner and Ex-Officio Secretary of the Raipur Urban Public Service Society, Abinash Mishra, directives have been issued to invite tenders as per the approval granted by the state government. It has been emphasised that the work must be given top priority in accordance with the welfare-oriented vision of the central and State Governments.

All further actions will comply with the rules of the District Urban Public Service Society and other related regulations. The approved funds will be utilised strictly for the construction of bus depot civil infrastructure and BTM power infrastructure. No payments for other purposes will be permitted. All actions will adhere to the provisions of the departmental manual and the guidelines issued periodically by the department. If expenses exceed the approved amount, the excess costs will be borne by the society itself. The guidelines issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Prime Minister’s E-Bus Service Scheme must be strictly followed. Similarly, compliance with the instructions issued from time to time by the state government and the nodal agency SUDA is mandatory. Before commencing the work, technical approval and other necessary permissions, including no-objection certificates, must be obtained from the competent authority to ensure the work is completed within the stipulated timeframe. Construction work will be carried out as per the DPR maps and layout approved by the competent authority. The scheme will also ensure provisions for rainwater harvesting and the use of energy-efficient equipment.
