STUDENTS from the Institute of Design Education and Architectural Studies (IDEAS) have transformed the Matru Seva Sangh Panchavati Vrudhashram by designing and constructing a semi-permanent structure tailored to the needs of its elderly residents. Using natural materials like bamboo and coconut ropes, the students evoked a nostalgic charm reminiscent of traditional homes, providing both comfort and connection.

To further enhance the ashram, the students introduced a “Wall of Kindness”, a community-driven space where individuals can donate or receive essential items. This initiative fosters generosity, recycling, and social unity, creating a culture of sharing and compassion. The journey, while challenging, was made possible with the guidance of esteemed architects including Ar. Abhay Purohit, Ar. Milind Gujarkar, Ar. Harshal Ganorkar, Ar. Majid Abidi, Ar. Mayank Borkar, Ar. Prabhat Tripathi, Ar. Drupad Ashar, Ar. Vojesh Pahava, along with ANDC Trophy heads Sudarshan Veryani and Shruti Sharma. Their leadership, combined with over 40 students, brought this vision to life.
