A one-day workshop on ‘Emerging Technologies’ was organised in state capital today. The workshop was hosted by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The event aimed to share knowledge about modern technologies and promote their adoption. The workshop was inaugurated by Principal Secretary of Department of Electronics and Information Technology Niharika Barik. Speaking on the occasions, Principal Secretary Barik said, “Technology is evolving rapidly, and keeping pace with these changes is a significant challenge for governance. The Chhattisgarh government is focusing on areas such as digital infrastructure, e-governance, cybersecurity, digital literacy, skill development, and promoting the IT industry to make the state technologically robust.” Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) Prabhat Malik highlighted the role of the CHiPS in developing IT infrastructure in the state.

He mentioned initiatives like the State Data Center and the CG-SWAN project, aimed at securely connecting government institutions. In the near future, workshops will be organised to enhance use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and build the capacity of decision-makers, officials, and employees, he added. Dr Padma Joshi, Senior Director at C-DAC, informed that workshop covered detailed information on emerging technologies such as blockchain and Aadhaar authentication. She remarked, “Workshops like these will help address IT sector challenges and disseminate technical knowledge.” Vice-Chancellor of the ISBM University Dr Anand Malawar, Veena Tyagi, Rajeev Srivastava, Kumar Bishw Ranjan and other officials attended the workshop. The primary goal of the workshop was to empower state officials and employees with technical knowledge and promote digital development in Chhattisgarh.
