UNION Minister and chief promoter of Agrovision on Monday
expressed great satisfaction over
the increased number of visitors
to the four-day Agrovision
Agricultural Exhibition. In his
address, Gadkari said more than
2 lakh farmers from various parts
of the country visited the expo
and benefitted from new technologies and valuable knowledge
shared through various workshops. After receiving an overwhelming response from farmers, producers, consumers, agricultural students, and
enthusiasts, India’s largest agricultural exhibition, Agrovision,
concluded on Monday at PDKV
ground, Dabha.
The four-day event was
presided over by Gadkari, with
Arunachal Pradesh’s Minister for
Agriculture and Allied Sectors,
Gabriel D Wangsu, as the
chief guest. Former MP Ramdas
Tadas, Central Citrus Institute
Director Dr Dilip Ghosh,
Organizing Secretary Ravindra
Boratkar, and other notable dignitaries also graced the occasion.
During the event, the dignitaries
launched the agri-industry magazine ‘Agrospectrum’, and winners of the Progressive Farmers
Awards and an essay competition were felicitated. Nitin
Gadkari highlighted the workshops organised to improve
farmers’ lives.
He mentioned the display of
electric tractors, drones, and
advanced agricultural equipment, which sparked
great enthusiasm among the
attendees.
Gadkari distributed the
Agrovision Progressive Farmers
Awards to Pushpak Khapre,
Hemant Shendre, Prateek
Kakade, Narendra Nalde,
Dnyaneshwar Burde, Dr Jeevan
Katore, and Dr Usha Dongarwar.
In the essay competition,
Pritesh Maske won first prize,
followed by Gaurav Dahikar in
second place and Rashi
Titarmare in third.
‘Small reservoirs ideal for fish farming’
EXPERTS at a workshop titled ‘Fishery Business in Vidarbha’,
held on the final day of the Agrovision Agricultural Exhibition at
PDKV Ground, shared that Vidarbha contributes 54 per cent of
Maharashtra’s freshwater fish production. They noted that small
reservoirs are more productive as compared to large ones.
The session saw the participation of notable dignitaries, including MAFSU Nagpur Vice Chancellor Dr Nitin Patil, Dean Dr
Mukund Amle, Dr Vivek Bhute of Deep Aqua Fisher Pvt. Ltd.,
Prof. Dr PrashantTelvekar, Prabhakar Mandre, Joint Commissioner
of Fisheries Department Shubham Koremewar, Dr Sachin Belsare,
Tomeshwar Gaharule, and Leela Patil. Dr Sachin Belsare said fish
production in India has doubled, and Nagpur district alone has
seen 341 approved fishery projects, of which 173 have been completed. The workshop was conducted by Dr Sahapure.
