The Winter Session of Maharashtra State Legislature is likely to begin either on December 9 or 17, 2024, provided Government starts functioning as per the rule. Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalaxmi Bidari has reviewed the preparations and expressed satisfaction. After the election result, political situation has changed completely in the State. MahaYuti is trying to resolve the leadership crisis as to who will become next Chief Minister. On Tuesday, Eknath Shinde resigned and the Governor asked him to lead caretaker Government. If MahaYuti fails to form Government, then caretaker Government will continue which can’t hold Legislature’s session. Considering all these aspects, the session may get delayed. Bidari, in the meeting held on Tuesday, instructed officials to complete the works of cleaning and painting at Vidhan Bhavan, Ravi Bhavan, MLA Hostel, Hyderabad House etc.

Public Works Department (PWD) has already started work of repairing and painting at Ravi Bhavan, Vidhan Bhavan, Hyderabad House etc. The meeting was attended by District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Joint Commissioner of EGS Rajlaxmi Shah, Supply Department Joint Commissioner Anil Bansod, PWD Executive Engineer Abhijeet Kuchewar, officials from Police, NMC, Health, RTO and others. Bidari asked officials to complete the work of maintainence of Chief Minister’s residence Ramgiri, Deputy Chief Minister’s residences Deogiri and Vijaygarh on priority basis.

The departments should take care of beautification work. Bidari asked Police Department to be on toes and make proper arrangements for the morchas and agitations. Bidari also asked Police Department to make adequate arrangements of CCTV cameras so that the premises will remain under surveillance. Since majority people will be coming from outside, their health need to be well taken care of. Bidari gave necessary instructions to Health Department to keep all types of medical services ready.
