A national seminar on tribal pride was organised at Atal Behari Vajpayee University (ABVU) here Thursday evening. Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel was the chief guest while Chairman of Coal Development Authority Madhya Pradesh Ramlal Raut and MLAs Amar Agrawal, Dharamlal Kaushik, Dharamjit Singh and Sushant Shukla and Registrar Shailendra Dubey were special guests of the programme presided over by Vice-Chancellor Acharya Arun Diwakar Nath Vajpayee.
During the programme, the Governor also released ‘National Janjati Gaurav’ magazine and souvenir.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Acharya Arun Diwakar Nath Vajpayee said that the contribution of tribal communities is highest in the development of India, but its accounting has not been done properly.
He said that the tribals have done a great job in protecting the environment, our culture and our Vedic civilization.
Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel in his address said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased tribal pride in the whole of India.
“I worked in Modi’s cabinet for 14-years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the society and country. He has solved every problem even when he was Chief Minister. We have got this opportunity to know the lives of all the revolutionary tribal leaders who sacrificed their life for the country and society and wherever there are tribals one should work to give them momentum”, he told.
He said that tribals are the protectors of water, forest and land. “Prime Minister Modi is full of tribal sensitivity.
Wherever there is any scheme in tribal area the elected representatives must work on how to get the benefits for them and inform them about the government’s plan”, he informed.
The Governor further said that sickle cell is a big problem among tribals. Both the state and central governments have made provisions of additional budget to tackle this situation. Discussing on the symptoms of this disease he said that in Chhattisgarh the government was continuously working on this campaign to ensure not even a single child is born with this problem. “The central government has developed a plan to eliminate it by 2047. The child should be treated and tested for sickle cell, get proper treatment and medicines within 72 hours after presentation”, he added.
The programme was also addressed by MLAs Sushant Shukla, Dharmjeet Singh and Amar Agarwal. Dignitaries including Vice Chancellor of Dr CV Raman University (CVRU) Dr RP Dubey, Controller of Examinations of ABVU Dr Tarun Dhar Diwan, Dr Shreya Sahu, all the professors and officers were present in the programme.
