A curtain raiser ceremony was organised by the Indian Army for the Army Marathon, on Friday
The Indian Army is set to organise the Army Marathon Bhopal-2025
on January 19, 2025, under the
theme ‘Fit India - Run with Indian Army’. The event, aimed at promoting fitness and patriotism, was
officially announced during a Curtain Raiser Ceremony held at Ravindra Bhawan Auditorium, Bhopal on Friday. The ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare of Madhya Pradesh, and Lt Gen Prit Pal Singh, AVSM, General Officer Commanding 21 Corps.
According to them, the Army Marathon Bhopal 2025 will feature three race categories to cater to
participants of various age groups and fitness levels: a 21 km
Half Marathon, a 10 km Competitive Run, and a 5 km Fun Run. Participants will receive medals and certificates, with top finishers eligible for cash prizes.
The marathon’s route will pass through some of Bhopal’s most scenic and iconic landmarks, ensuring an exciting experience for participants. In addition to the marathon itself, the event will also feature thrilling military displays, aimed at inspiring the younger generation and strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and civilians. These displays will serve as a reminder of the Army’s role in the nation’s security and the valour of Indian soldiers.
The theme of the marathon, ‘Fit India - Come Run with Indian Army’, aligns with the Army’s commitment to fitness and unity. This event is expected to draw thousands of participants and support the ongoing Fit India Movement.
The marathon, scheduled close to Army Day, will also pay tributes to the sacrifices and courage of Indian soldiers.
Vishwas Kailash Sarang highlighted that the event not only honours the military legacy but also fosters a sense of patriotism and community spirit among citizens. The Army Marathon Bhopal 2025 is poised to become a major fitness and patriotic event, uniting the people of Bhopal in celebration of fitness and national pride.
In addition to the key dignitaries, several distinguished guests attended the curtain raiser event, including Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary Tourism, Madhya Pradesh, Chander Sekhar Sharma, CGM, SBI Bhopal, Ramnish Geer, IPS, Joint Director of CBI, Bhopal, and Dipak Basu, Executive Director & State Head of IOCL, MP&CG.
