THIS Diwali all the major markets were buzzing with the festive fervour. Most of markets
and commercial establishments were flooded with consumers across the city. There
was excitement in the air as
customers were attracted by
thewhite goods equippedwith
smart features, festive offers,
and easy loan schemes.
Customers thronged theshops
to buy a variety of products to
make the festive season an
occasion to remember.
While garments, jewellery,
vehicles and otherdealers witnessed increased footfall in
showrooms, white goods sellers were no exception. In fact,
it seems that they are the ones
who are attracting more buyers this season. All the major
brands manufacturing white
goodshavebeenofferingproducts with new features which
are selling like hotcakes in the
markets. Smart television sets,
energysavingrefrigeratorsand
air conditioners, and washing
machines with new features
and bigger size are the market
leaders. Most people were
upgrading their small screen
LED panels with big size LEDs.

Marketing, told The Hitavada
that newly launched electronicproductslike LED TVs,washingmachines, refrigeratorsand
air conditioners were attracting the buyers irrespective of
its cost.
Taori furthersaid,“Although,
the industry is growing by 15
percent,wewitnessedagrowth
in demand of 25 to 30 per cent
across all categories, as compared to thepreviousyearduring the Diwali festive season.
This is because we have a
aggressive pricing policy and
better after sales service. Both
these factorsplayanimportant
role in wooing customers. We
also havealarge repeat customer base.”
Overall there was overwhelming response from the
customers for premium productsloadedwithsmart features
to make life easy.
Taori said big size television
sets are attracting people.
“Almostallreputedbrandshave
come up with smart television
sets and they keep on upgradingits features at regularintervals.Thishascreatedadditional
demand for such products.
Apart from this, air conditioners are also enjoying good
demand,” he said.
Gaurav Pahawa, Director of
LotusElectronics,alsosaid that
demand for products with
smart features has increased
manifold in the current season. “People are ready to pay
extra to upgrade their products. In television sets, they
want bigger screen size,
equipped with AI,Wi-Fi, more
clarity andimprovedqualityof
sound so that they can enjoy
watching sports events and
movies,” he said.
Similarly, Pahawa said that
increased capacity refrigeratorswithnew featuresaremore
indemand than thebasicmodels. “They want additional
space in their refrigerators
along with ‘smart’ features. At
the same time, people are also
veryconscious about the power consumption of that product. We offer such upgraded
products because of which we
are expecting the sales to goup
by 25 per cent by Diwali,” he
said.Apart from theseproducts,
people are also buying newmobile handsets, laptops and
microwave ovens making the
markets more exciting.
