Vivechana Theatre Group organised the first National Theare Festival in 1994 which has been constantly organised since 29 years. The festival has created a special identity among theatre loving audience as the best and senior theatre directors and theatre groups enthusiastically staged their plays on the respectful platform.
More than 150 extraordinary plays have been presented before the theatre-loving audience by the theatre groups from across the country. It’s a matter of pride for any city that such a popular festival is being organised there since 30 years. Vivechana has selected five of the best plays staged across the country throughout the year, to be catered before the audience, informed Himanshu Rai, Secretary, Vivechana Theatre Group.
Rai was addressing a press conference to inform about the 5-day 30th National Theatre Fesitval to be organised at Tarang auditorium with the support of MP Power Management Company Limited, Central Sports and Arts Council from November 6 to 10, from 7.30 pm.
Earlier, painting and books exhibition and open air platform will be displayed from 7.00 pm daily.
He informed that special entry passes have been kept for student audience.
The Festival will be inaugurated with the play ‘Agarbatti’ to be staged by the artists of Samagam Rangmandal Jabalpur under the direction of Swati Dubey on November 6. The play has won 04 Meta Award.
Then, ‘Theke par Mushaira’ will be staged by Cyclorama Theatre, Delhi under the direction of Deepak Gupta on November 7, ‘Wrong Turn’ by Theatre Lab, MP School of Drama, Bhopal under the
direction of Senior Theatre Director, Ranjeet Kapoor on November 8, ‘Punashch Krishna’ will be staged under the direction of Teekam Joshi on November 9 whereas, Pirouz Group Delhi will present a comedy play ‘Akbar The Great Nahin Rahe’ on November 10, 2024, respectively.
Anil Shrivastava, Bankebihari Beohar, Manu Tiwari, Ajay Dhabarde and others appealed people to attend the event in large numbers.
