PREPARATIONS of the Chhath puja werecompletedatKanhanriverwhere a large number of devotees perform the rituals. Chhath Puja Seva Samiti made special arrangements for the devotees at the site under the guidance of Umakant Agnihotri, NationalExecutivePresidentofUttar Bhartiya Sabha. The committee laid green carpets at the site near Kanhan river bridge, installed sound system and lights. Temporarybathrooms and toilets are also created for the convenience of the devotees.

 

Vidarbha President of Uttar Bhartiya Sabha DBSingh and East Nagpur President MMSharma appealed to the devotees to celebrate the festival with great religious fervour. Chhath Puja is one of the most significant festivals celebrated in North India,involving strictrituals and fasting to express gratitude to the Sun God for sustaining life on Earth. It is also celebrated in others parts of the country. Mandal Mehta, Shankardayal Shukla,VipinGupta,PradeepSharma, Ranjit Kumar, Promod Sharma, Raghuvansh Singh, Umesh Pande, Deepak Singh, Rajesh Tanti, Rajnarayan Yadav, Yadunandan Mishra,PankajTanti,UmeshThakur, Kandan Pande, Lalan Rajak, RamchandraMehta,MaheshPandit, Pankaj Ram, Vijay Tanti, Bhola Prajapati and others took part in the preparations, says a press release issued here by the committee.
