A Combine team of Crime Branch and Sihora police nabbed a couple and seized 11 kg Ganja amounting to Rs 2.20 lakh, three mobile handsets and cash of Rs 1,200 from them late night on Monday. The arrested have been identified as Akash Soni (25) and his wife Neha Soni (26), both natives of Pathariya village, Gotegaon in Narsinghpur district and currently living at Kanchghar in Ghamapur.
SHO of Sihora police station, Vipin Bihari Singh informed that on Monday night, Crime Branch received information about a man and a woman carrying Ganja and heading towards NH-30. Acting promptly on the information, the combine team of Crime Branch and Sihora police started a search and stopped them on NH-30. In their search, police found illegal stock of Ganja in a bag-pack weighing around 11 kilograms amounting to Rs 2.20 lakh, three mobile handsets and cash of Rs 1200 from them. In further investigation, police learnt that the arrested Akash Soni and Neha Soni are husband and wife and they were waiting for customer for delivery of narcotic consignment. Sihora police have registered a case against the accused under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act while further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other persons working in the network of narcotics trade.
Drug-peddlers were apprehended with active working of police team comprising SI Vinod Bagri, Jyoti Khairwar, ASI Rama Singh Dhurve, Head Constables, Omprakash Dubey, Sunil Kaushal, Constable, Shailendra Tiwari, Crime Branch’s ASI, Ajay Pandey, Kailash Mishra, Head Constables, Rustam Ali, Rajesh Pandey, Constables, Pramod Soni, Mohammed Ismile, Pradeep Tekam, Ajay Dixit, Cyber Cell’s Head Constable, Amit Patel, Constables, Arvinder Raghuvanshi and Jitendra.
