Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasised the vital connection between state progress and national growth, as he addressed the closing ceremony of the Rajyotsav in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh. Praising State’s rich cultural heritage and its people, he said, Chhattisgarhiya Sabse Badiya and expressed confidence in Chhattisgarh’s contributions to India’s development, referring to it as a land full of resources and youthful energy. Dhankhar highlighted concerns over deceptive methods of faith conversion, stressing that selfless service must remain free of ulterior motives. He pointed out that such acts are often financially driven and target vulnerable tribal communities, aiming to disrupt the cultural fabric. “Our culture is ancient, and there are institutionalized attempts to alter it,” he stated, calling for immediate action to preserve India’s cultural soul.
 
The Vice President lauded Chhattisgarh’s governance and praised its administration for effective policies, including a new industrial strategy that promotes inclusive growth and transparency. He commended efforts to curb Maoist insurgency and advised the youth to remain vigilant and protect their future from the lure of violence. Remembering Chhattisgarh’s formation in 2000, Dhankhar paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose leadership enabled thesmooth creation of new states like Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand. He recalled Vajpayee’s vision of unity and harmonious statehood transitions. Emphasizing the role of freedom fighters, especially during “Amrit Kaal,” Dhankhar encouraged the younger generation to honor heroes like Subhas Chandra Bose and Birsa Munda.
 
He also underscored the importance of the Constitution, ahead of Constitution Day on November 26, reminding citizens of past challenges to democracy, such as the Emergency, and the lessons they impart. Highlighting the Women’s Reservation Bill of 2023, Dhankhar celebrated the historic reservation of 33% of seats for women in legislative bodies, which he called a transformative step under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He praised Chhattisgarh’s example, noting the increased representation of women, including those from marginalized communities, in the State Assembly. Dhankhar hailed Chhattisgarh’s model of progressive governance and reiterated that state and national interests are inseparable. Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also addressed the gathering, with announcements to support local artists and promote cultural heritage. The event saw participation from key state officials and a large audience, marking the end of the vibrant celebration.
