THE Public Sector General
Insurance (PSGI) employees
intensified their struggle
against Department of
Financial Services (DFS) and
GeneralInsurersPublic Sector
Association of India (GIPSA)
by observing half day‘Dharna’
followedbylunchhourdemonstrations in front of Regional
Office of United India
Insurance Co Ltd, Shankar
Nagar on Wednesday. Similar
demonstrationswereheldatall
Regional Centres across the
country.
The aggrievedPSGI employeeswereagitating for theimplementation of their long-pending demands including the
wagerevisiondue fromAugust
1, 2022, uniform 30% family
pension,scrappingofNational
Pension System (NPS) and
demanding 1995 Pension
Scheme forall, till thenincrease
in employer’s contribution to
14% in NPS. The demonstration was organised under the
banner ofJointForum ofTrade
UnionsandAssociation(JFTU)
in PSGI companies.
The employees also
demanded strengthening of
PSGIcompaniesbymergingin
single entitylikeLIC, adequate
recruitment in all cadres and
improvements in non-core
benefits. Nagpur Unit of JFTU
organised the lunch hour
demonstrations in front of
RegionalOfficeofUnitedIndia
Insurance Co Ltd, Shankar
Nagar. Employees from nook
and corner of the city and
retired employees also participated in the demonstrations.
The employees shouted slogans for their demands and
condemnedDFS andGIPSAby
shouting slogans during the
demonstrations.

JFTU will hold sit in Dharna in
frontof theRegional Incharges
on November 11, followed by
lunch hour demonstrations.
After the meeting a memorandum addressed to the
Chairman, GIPSA, was submitted throughChiefRegional
