Over 2,000 residences scrutinised in a citywide crackdown targeting habitual offenders and anti-social elements

In a decisive effort to curb criminal activities and restore law and order, Raipur Police carried out extensive predawn raids across multiple localities on November 6. The operation, initiated at 4:00 AM, was conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range, Amresh Mishra, and Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, with Additional Superintendents of Police Lakhpat Patel (City) and D R Porte (West) overseeing the action. The coordinated raids were executed across several areas, including Kukur Beda, Kota Colony, Badaipara, Amapara, BSUP Colony Bhathagaon, Raja Talab along the expressway, Sanjay Nagar, and Telibandha BSUP Colony. The targeted localities are known hotspots for criminal activities, housing habitual offenders, anti-social elements, and individuals with pending warrants.

Raipur Police mobilised a large contingent comprising gazetted officers, station house officers, and teams from the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU). During the operation, over 2,000 houses were inspected, with law enforcement conducting thorough checks on suspicious individuals and known offenders. Habitual criminals and those under police surveillance were issued stern warnings to cease unlawful activities and maintain peaceful conduct within their communities. Instructions were given to present themselves before authorities whenever summoned. In an effort to enhance security, the verification of tenants and residents was carried out meticulously. Forms for tenant verification were distributed, with individuals instructed to submit them to the nearest police station. Interrogations were conducted for unauthorised occupants and individuals recently arriving in the areas. The operation triggered panic among criminal elements, with several suspects attempting to evade the authorities. Violations under the Arms Act were uncovered, and pending warrants, including permanent and arrest warrants, were executed against targeted individuals.
