In a shocking case, Chuna Bhatti police have arrested the uncle and aunt of a 19-year-old student, Palak Sondhiya, who had committed suicide in February this year. Police investigations revealed that her uncle, Anand Sondhiya, and aunt, Mamta Sondhiya, had been harassing Palak for not doing household chores and had been subjecting her to physical and mental torture. According to police, Palak was living with her uncle and aunt in Durganagar, Chuna Bhatti, as her parents had abandoned her. Her mother, Geeta Sondhiya, had remarried and moved to Uttar Pradesh 14 years ago, while her father, Umesh Sondhiya, had also remarried and was living in Jabalpur. Palak’s brother had died in an accident in 2012. The police investigation found that Palak’s uncle and aunt would often beat her and taunt her for not doing household chores.
 
They would also force her to do all the household work, despite knowing that she was a student and had to focus on her studies. The harassment had been going on for two years and Palak had become increasingly depressed and frustrated. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, ASI Sunil Gurjar, who is investigating the case, said that Palak’s friends and neighbours had told the police that her uncle and aunt had changed their behaviour towards her over the past two years. They had become increasingly strict and would often scold and beat her for not doing household chores. Police have registered a case against Anand and Mamta Sondhiya. 56-year-old man’s body found at under-construction site in Shahpura Police have launched an investigation after body of a 56-year-old man was found near Paras Empire under-construction building on Thursday. The body has been taken into police custody. Officers have also started questioning the witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. As per Assistant Sub-Inspector Munshiram, who is leading the investigation, the deceased identified as Kashiram Ahirwar had left home on Wednesday morning and was found dead in the evening near the construction site. Police revealed that Kashiram was a drunkard and was found in an inebriated state near the construction site. He had suffered severe injuries on his nose and body, which are believed to have caused his death. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and further investigation
 
will be conducted once the report is received. The police are currently gathering evidence and questioning witnesses to piece together the events leading up to Kashiram’s death. The investigation is on and police are urging to those with any information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. The cause of death will be determined once the post-mortem report is received and police will take further action accordingly. Two women held for blackmailing married man Mahila Police arrested two women named Sounya alias Rashmi and Monika for extorting money from a married man. According to police, the accused had extorted money worth around Rs 15 lakh from the victim. Police team arrested Soumya alias Rashmi from her residence at Vasundhara Apartment in Surendra Nagar. A phone and cash worth Rs 2,40,000 were also seized. On the same day, her partner in crime, Monika came to police station and surrendered herself. Both the accused have been presented before the court.
 
 
According to police, on November 6, complainant named Sheetal (47), a resident of Misrod said that two girls have been blackmailing her husband and have extorted money worth around Rs 15 lakh. Due to the same, their economic situation has been dwindled. She told the police, “When I asked the reason from my husband regarding this financial turmoil, he said that two females were blackmailing him.” She further mentioned that they have made some photos, videos and are blackmailing that they will post them and make it viral. In this regard, they are demanding money from the victim. As per information, the victim was fulfilling all the demands of the accused fearing infamy. Reacting to the same, a case under Section 308 (2) (7), 351(4)3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) was registered by the police. When the accused heard about the police complaint, they then contacted the victim and gave him death threat. BHEL employee found dead; investigations underway a 35-year-old employee of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was found dead in his room on Wednesday night. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Assistant Sub-Inspector Premanand Shakya of Govindpura police station, who is investigating the case, said that Amit Kotla, the deceased, was a resident of Barkheda Shyamnagar and was addicted to narcotics and alcohol. He would often consume ganja and liquor in excess. On the night of November 6, Amit’s brother went to his room to call him, but the door was locked, and he did not respond. The brother then informed the police, who broke open the door and found Amit’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Amit’s death. According to the police, Amit had a history of substance abuse and had consumed liquor on the night of his death. Post-mortem report is awaited and police will take further action based on the findings. Investigations are underway.
