Winter chill to make a comeback in the region from Dec 3
The minimum temperature across Vidarbha increased by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius due to the landfall of Cyclone Fengal in Bay of Bengal on Saturday afternoon. Despite overcast weather, no rainfall occurred in the region.
On Saturday, Nagpur city witnessed partially cloudy skies in the afternoon while minimum temperature was on the higher side in the morning.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for several parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. The coastal region is predicted to experience fluctuations in weather, including high tides and heavy rainfall.
The Weather Department has predicted that no major impact of the cyclone will take place in Central India including Vidarbha.
The weather will remain cloudy but normal in Vidarbha region with likely rise in minimum temperature by 1 or 2 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, Akola recorded lowest minimum temperature with 12.7 degrees Celsius. Buldhana, Gondia, Washim and Nagpur recorded minimum temperature above 13 degrees Celsius. Amravati, Brahmapuri, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Wardha recorded minimum temperature above 14 degrees Celsius. At 15 degrees Celsius, Bhandara recorded highest minimum temperature in Vidarbha.
There is no major change reported in the maximum temperature across Vidarbha on Saturday. Buldhana recorded lowest maximum temperature with 26.8 degrees Celsius. Brahmapuri was hottest with 31.2 degrees Celsius. Akola, Amravati and Nagpur recorded maximum temperature above 30 degrees Celsius. Remaining places of Vidarbha witnessed maximum temperature below 30 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Due to cloudy weather, minimum temperature will remain on the higher side for the next couple of days.
