Abir ends second best

 

ABIR Bhattacharya, a nineyear-old shuttler once again finished the second best in the recently held NK Garg Foundation’s Yonex-Sunrise Nagpur District Badminton Tournament which was organised by Nagpur District Badminton Association at Subhedar Hall. Abir, coached by Santosh Bokey, went down in the final to Pradyumna Meshram 21- 19, 21-7 in straight games. Earlier in the semis, Abir had stun third seed Rishi Singh 19-21, 21-10, 21-9. In the quarters, he got the better of Ansh Mohta 21-4, 21-2 to continue his winning run. Abir has thanked his coach Bokey, parents and well-wishers for his achievement.
