Police raided S Bar and Restaurant in Hingna area, where female dancers were performing obscene dance under the guise of an orchestra. The raiding party noticed a scene reminiscent of a movie at the Bar wherein customers were showering the bar dancers with money. A case has been filed against the bar operator and the customers at Hingna Police Station. According to police, at around 1.45 am on Sunday, a tip-off was received by the Zone-1 Police Team about a dance bar operating at S Bar and Restaurant on Hingna Road. Although dance bars are banned in the State, some bars continue to organise performances of female dancers under the pretext of an orchestra or light music. For this, women are often hired from outside the city.

 

DCP Zone-1 Lohit Matani was informed about the situation. Once the information was confirmed, the police team raided the bar, under Matani’s guidance. During the raid, the police noticed that a woman was singing on the stage while other women were performed inappropriate acts on the music.

 

The customers were seen showering the dancers with currency notes. On seeing cops, the customers tried to flee the bar. But the bar was already surrounded by the cops which blocked their escape. As a result, a case was filed against the bar owner Jai Baldev Hirani (42), a resident of Pande Layout, Khamla; Manager Raju Lalchand Jhamba (59), a resident of Nara Jaripatka; Cashier Devendra Ramakrishna Shende (38), a resident of Ekatmata Nagar, Jaitala; and several customers including Nilesh Brijlal Uike (35), Shishupal Dattatreya Deshmukh (35), Gaurav Arun Phalke (32), Gopal Hemraj Dadvi (33), Vishal Vijay Naik (40), Shrikant Hiralal Nagrare (46), Ashish Surendra Pradhan (42), Ganesh alias Ghui Anandrao Chacherkar (40), Dipal Mohanlal Jaiswal (53), Prashant Suryabhan Wanjari (42), Abhishek Vijay Ingle (40), James Vijay Dany (31), Ramsingh Gangacharan Thakur (59), Shekhar Shantaram Mohite (42), Nitin Dayanand Shinde (42), Milind Vishwanath Wadekar (59) and Rahul Vikas Ramteke (32), Umesh Rohit Sapa (25). Police seized material worth Rs 45,000 from the bar. The raid was conducted by API Sanjay Bansod, PSI Santosh Khadekar, and staff including Gajanan Pawar, Digambar Patade, Swapnil Karande, Manohar Rathod, Gaurav Patil, Manjusha Ganjurde, Sandip Jadhav, Deepak Sarate, Arvind Ghiye, Sunil Bais, Ashish Paunikar and Dharmendra Yadav.
