VIDARBHA posted a thumping 242-run victory over Saurashtra in their Group D league match of the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Vidarbha openers Latika Inamdar and Shivani Dharne added 218 runs off 212 balls for the opening wicket after their captain had won the toss and elected to bat at the Air Force Complex ground, Palam II.
Latika made 117 off 116 balls with 18 boundaries and Shivani remained unbeaten on 126 off 131 deliveries with 17 hits to the fence. She got good support from skipper Disha Kasat (21) and Kanchan Nagwani (27) as Vidarbha posted a mammoth 328-5 in their 50 overs.
Saurashtra batters were no match for Vidarbha’s experienced bowlers, who required only 29.4 overs to dismiss them for 86.
Kanchan Nagwani claimed five wickets for eight runs, while Nupur Kohale snared two wickets giving away nine runs.
Shivani was declared the Player of the Match for her fine unbeaten knock.
The big win boosted Vidarbha’s Net Run-Rate and took their points tally to eight from three matches. Vidarbha’s next match is against Maharashtra on December 12.
