The hardware version of Smart India Hackathon is being organised at Bhilai Institute of Technology Durg. Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is being organized from December 11 to 15. In this national level innovation competition, 100 students and 55 girls from across the country are continuously working on solutions to the problems of common daily life and industries. Giving the context of the programme, Principal of Bhilai Institute of Technology, Dr Arun Arora said that students of IIT Mumbai are trying to develop a system for charging electric vehicles so that moving vehicle can be charged without stopping. This innovation will reduce time and energy consumption. Innovators from Velammal Engineering College, Chennai are making a vehicle that will be easily operated by the disabled. This vehicle is being prepared by connecting it with various linkages. Students from Rajkot, Gujarat are developing a system to monitor the live location of the city bus in urban traffic. Likewise, facing the current traffic problem, students from Coimbatore are working on research on solenoid operated engine.
 
This experiment will promote less polluting and environmentally sensitive traffic system. Sludge treatment in sewage treatment plant is a big challenge. To treat it, students Ramaiah University Bangalore are developing a closed structure under clean and green technology. This structure will be equipped with gas sensors and artificial intelligence, which will not only reduce human risks but will also produce high quality organic manure. Through, Smart India Hackathon (SIH), students are not only giving shape to their innovation but are also acquiring high quality skills through this platform.
