Leaders from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) held a protest against Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) near the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mahal on Sunday. The protest was organised under the banner of “India Against EVM.” The protest was led by former minister and Congress leader Sunil Kedar, Deputy Leader of Shiv Sena (UBT) Sushma Andhare, along with Congress leaders Bunty Shelke and Prafulla Gudadhe, and others. They raised concerns about the reliability of EVMs during the protest. A rally was taken out from Mahal to Bhagwan Nagar ground, where the leaders addressed the public. They demanded the use of ballot papers in elections and demanded free and fair voting processes.
