In a major boost to air connectivity, a direct flight from Bhopal to Goa was inaugurated at Raja Bhoj Airport by Member of Parliament from Bhopal Alok Sharma, on Sunday. The flight, which will run six days a week, will fly directly from Bhopal to Goa. Apart from the people of Bhopal, people from all over the State are expected to benefit from this. IndiGo flight from Bhopal to Goa will depart at 3:20 pm, six days a week. MP Alok Sharma expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu for starting the flight. MP Sharma said that recently we met Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu in Delhi and demanded to start flight services from Bhopal to Pune, Bhopal to Goa, Bhopal to Kolkata, Bhopal to Bengaluru, Bhopal to Lucknow and Bhopal to Chandigarh to reduce increasing traffic pressure from Bhopal to other cities and on the demand of passengers.

 

On which flight from Bhopal to Pune was started last month. From December 1, a direct flight service from Bhopal to Goa has been started. Soon, flight services will also be started from Bhopal to Kolkata, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Bengaluru. Discussions are going on with many airlines. Apart from residents of Bhopal, citizens and students from across the State will also benefit from the start of flights to other states from the capital. MP Sharma said that the work of expansion of Raja Bhoj Airport is underway. “Soon this airport will be operational in its new and modern look. International flights will also start from here. For this, permission for necessary custom duty and immigration check has also been granted. It is a matter of happiness that Raja Bhoj Airport is now operating 24-hour service,” he said. On the occasion of launch of Goa flight at Raja Bhoj Airport of the capital, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma inaugurated the flight by lighting a lamp and getting a cake cut by a small girl. MP Sharma gave boarding passes to passengers going to Goa in the first flight from Bhopal. On the occasion, Airport Director Ramji Awasthi, IndiGo Airlines officials, airport staff and dignitaries were also present at the airport.
