 PHE Minister Sampatia Uikey inaugurating ten-day ‘Swadeshi Mela’ at Balaghat in presence of local eminent citizens.

PHE Minister Sampatia Uikey inaugurated ten-day ‘Swadeshi Mela’ at Balaghat at Excellence School ground. She inaugurated the fair by lighting traditional lamp before idol of Lord Ram. This fair has been organised with an aim to promote use of indigenous products and promotion Indian culture, art, handicraft,. Speaking on the occasion, PHE Minister Uikey said that this is historic event for Balaghat as local would get chance to buy the local made products. This fair fulfills the determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Vocal For Local’. She hailed organisers for this event. Addressing gathering, Members of Parliament Bharti Pardhi said that through different stall displayed in this fair, local made products would be sold, this would give works to local artisan, manufactures and it would give impetus to their income also.
 
Then Minister Sampatia Uikey and MP Bharti Pardhi observed the different stall and inquired about the products sold in these stalls. They also saw the exhibition put by different departments in which they have displayed their schemes and programmes. When they visited stall of Agricultue department, they were given demonstration on ‘Chinnor’ qualiy of paddy, Millets, jiggery snacks, honey and others. Agriculture department had put up stall in which soil testing was being done and farmers were given technical information. National Rural Livelihood Mission had put up five stalls in which millet and other unique dishes were displayed and sold. Horticulture, Handloom, Silk department in their stall displayed different locally made products. Ex-Minister Gaurishankar Bisen, Municipality President Bharti Thakur, Ex-Municipality President Ramesh Ranglani, Ex District Panchayat President Rekha Bisen, Ex-MLA Ramesh Bhatere, social activist Lata Aelkar, Mausam Bisen, SDM Gopal Soni, SDM Rajeev Ranjan Pandey, Satyanarayana Aggarwal, Pranav Patel, Lalit Yede and others were present.
