The Bhilai Municipal Corporation is operating shelters across various locations in the city, providing temporary accommodation for travelers, students, laborers, and political visitors. On a recent inspection tour, BMC Commissioner Rajiv Kumar Pandey visited these shelters to meet the residents and assess the quality of services provided to them. During his visit, Commissioner Pandey interacted with the individuals staying at the shelters to understand their needs and challenges. He ensured them that any basic facilities required would be addressed promptly. He instructed officials to arrange housing allocations for eligible individuals under government regulations, wherever possible. The commissioner inspected the condition of shelter rooms, doors, windows, water supply, electricity, bedding, toilets, and cleanliness. He directed the staff to maintain regular cleaning and ensure the timely resolution of any issues. While interacting with the residents, Pandey showed keen interest in their activities, such as studies and art. Elderly residents even sang songs for him, bringing smiles to everyone.
