On Thursday, the Risali Municipal Corporation took strict action against the unauthorised storage of building materials along roadsides. Acting on the instructions of RMC Commissioner Monika Verma, the corporation seized bricks, sand, and gravel from Vaibhav Traders. A swing frame made of steel rods and angles was also found, and its removal was allowed with a grace period. The confiscated materials were being stored without permission for sale along the roadside, posing a risk of accidents due to their spread on the road.

Despite repeated warnings, no action was taken by the violators, prompting the corporation’s revenue department, led by officer-in-charge Mangal Kurrey, to carry out the seizure. Newai Police personnel were present during the operation to ensure law and order. Officials, including Vivek Ranganath, Vinod Shukla and Tikendra Verma, participated in the action. Vaibhav Traders had parked a 10-wheeler truck in the middle of the road and left a small JCB carelessly stationed for unloading sand and gravel. When the officials demanded the removal of the vehicles, the owner of Vaibhav Traders engaged in a heated argument. Following this, the officials moved the truck to the Newai police station premises. The municipal corporation had been receiving frequent complaints from citizens regarding the storage of construction materials along roadsides. Notices were issued to address the issue, but the lack of compliance led to Thursday’s action.
