In an effort to expedite the creation of Ayushman Vaya Vandana Cards for senior citizens above the age of 70, a technical training program was held for field health workers at the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office. The training session focused on various technical aspects, including the Ayushman portal, e-KYC, Aadhaar OTP, and face authentication. A total of 615 ASHA workers and 250 ANMs participated in the training. During the session, IT experts Hemant Jain and Rituraj from

Ayushman Bharat Niramyam Madhya Pradesh explained the step-by-step process of creating Ayushman cards using the Ayushman portal. They also addressed the practical issues faced by health workers and provided solutions to streamline the process. Field health workers are currently conducting a door-to-door survey to identify and assist senior citizens aged 70 and above for the creation of Ayushman Vaya Vandana Cards. So far, over 26,000 Ayushman cards have been issued in the district. For those who already have Ayushman cards and are now over 70, e-KYC is being done to provide an additional top-up of Rs. 5 lakh.

This amount will be added to the Rs. 5 lakh coverage that the family already receives, offering cashless treatment benefits. Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, emphasised the importance of enhancing the technical skills of field workers to speed up the process. He also warned that strict action would be taken against any health workers found negligent or causing delays in the creation of Ayushman cards. The goal is to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries can benefit from this programme.
