Annual conference of RSSDI from today

The annual conference of Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), India’s most prestigious and leading organization for research in diabetes and education of doctors for more than 50 years, will be organized at Parampara Garden, VIP Road in Raipur on December 21 and 22.
Talking to the media persons, President of RSSDI’s state unit president Professor Dr Smit Srivastava said that during the two-day conference, 17 diabetes experts from across the country and 41 experts from Chhattisgarh will educate and train about 350 participating doctors of the state through their lectures and workshops. Professor Dr Sanjay Verma said that in the two-day conference, a programme is prepared by selecting very specific topics to discuss diabetes.
The topics will cover problem of diabetes in the fetus and its diagnosis and treatment, and the complications arising from diabetes in old age such as kidney, nerve and heart blockage. Topics like chronic diabetes, diabetes reversal, pre-diabetes will be discussed through which there will be a discussion on such rare diabetes and the latest methods of getting rid of diabetes without medicine. Organizing Secretary Dr Arun Kedia said that RSSDI National President Dr Vijay Vishwanathan and Secretary Dr Sanjay Agarwal will also participate in this conference along with
Treasurer Dr Jugal Kishore Sharma. He said
that from this year the organization is going to start Dr Kranti Kumar Srivastava Oration Award’ which will be presented to a highly distinguished expert for his lecture on a leading topic in diabetes research. Dr Vijay Vishwanathan of Chennai will receive this award.
Executive member Dr Firoz Memon informed that prize distribution of diabetes quiz will be done during the inaugural ceremony chaired by former Vice Chancellor Professor Dr G B Gupta and Director Medical Education Professor Dr U S Painkra. Later, oath taking ceremony of the next year’s team of Dr Raka Shivhare will be also held.
