MP Ashish Dubey urges Union Min Shekhawat to establish ‘Maa Narmada Tourist Circuit’

Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey met with Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Delhi and urged him for establishment of ‘Maa Narmada Tourist Circuit’ in Jabalpur. Dubey highlighted Jabalpur’s rich historical and cultural significance and also underlined its key role in India’s freedom struggle.
Dubey informed Minister Shekhawat about the noteworthy contributions of Jabalpur’s freedom fighters. He recalled the Central Jail’s association with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and sacrifices of Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah, a father-son duo who resisted British rule,
Gulab Singh, a martyr of the 1942 Quit India Movement, a symbol of Jabalpur’s proud history. Likewise, he informed that Jabalpur’s Town Hall holds the distinction of being the first site in India where the tricolor was
hoisted during the colonial period.
Dubey urged the Union Minister that the cultural center in Jabalpur if managed by the Ministry of Culture, would help promote Jabalpur’s historical heritage and cultural sites on a national level. It will also boost tourism.
Union Minister Shekhawat assured Dubey of needed actions on the proposals.
