Saturday, marked the shortest day of the year, with just 10 hours and 43 minutes between sunrise and sunset. In Jabalpur, sun rise was witnessed at 6.48 am while sun set at 5.30 pm.

This day also signals the beginning of the Shishir Ritu (winter season), known for its chilly weather. Notably, the longest day of the year will occur on May 21.
At present, the impact of a western disturbance has caused cloudy skies over the city, leading to a consistent rise in temperatures. The trend is expected to continue till two more days. From December 23 to December 26, colder weather is anticipated, followed by another strong western disturbance that may bring clouds and rain during the year’s end and the start of the new year.
