In a major crackdown, Raipur Police conducted a surprise inspection at BSUP Colony in Mujgahan early this morning. The operation, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Lal Umed Singh, aimed to curb crime, verify tenants and outsiders, and take action against anti-social elements. The raid, which began at 5:00 AM, involved a joint team of over 200 personnel, including gazetted officers, police station in-charges, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, and staff from the Municipal Corporation. The police team checked more than 700 houses in the colony, focusing on identifying goons, miscreants, suspicious persons, and individuals with criminal records. Tenants and outsiders residing in BSUP Colony were thoroughly verified. Residents were instructed to submit rent agreements and provide complete information about their stay at the police station by the evening. Vehicle Checks: Several two-wheelers found in suspicious circumstances were inspected. Owners unable to produce valid documents faced action, with 15-20 vehicles being seized for further investigation. Criminal Watch: Known offenders, anti-social elements, and those under surveillance were issued strict warnings to maintain peace and security in the area. Illegal Residents: Around 20 individuals suspected of residing illegally were detained and brought to the police station for questioning. The raid followed reports of illegal activities and unauthorized residents in the colony. The police have emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, urging residents to cooperate and provide necessary details to ensure safety. The operation serves as a strong message against unlawful activities and highlights the commitment of Raipur Police to maintaining peace in the city.
