SEONI,
A tiger was found dead in a well in Bhimaltola village of Kurai, a tribal dominated development block of Seoni district. When some people went towards the well in the afternoon, they saw the carcass of the tiger inside the well. The Forest Department was informed about this, after which the forest staff reached the spot.
Khawasa Forest Range Officer, Ghanshyam Chaturvedi said that the villagers had seen the tiger’s carcass in the well built in the field of Bhimaltola resident Virendra Bhalavi of Forest Range Khawasa, which comes under the Pench National Park area. After receiving the information, the carcass of the tiger was taken out of the well and Panchnama was done. The well in which the incident took place is without parapet. The well
is not visible due to the growth of grass in the upper part of the well. Probably due to this the tiger fell into the well.
Tiger’s paw marks have also been found on the wall of the well. Probably the tiger had tried to get out of the well after falling. Due to fatigue, it drowned in the water.
The doctor of Pench Park examined the carcass of the tiger and it was cremated in the presence of senior officials. The age of the dead tiger is said to be 4 to 5 years.
