Transport, Police Departments hold meeting

 A joint meeting of officials from the Transport and Police Departments was organised on Sunday with representatives of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to address systematic parking issues and compliance with safety standards in Mandir Hasaud. The meeting focused on ensuring proper parking arrangements within the premises of gas plants and warehouses to prevent vehicles from being parked on roads. Key attendees included Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Gurjeet Singh, Transport Inspector Anis Baghel, Inspector Naval Kishore Kashyap

 

(Traffic Thana Atal Nagar), Police Station In-charge Sachin Singh (Mandir Hasaud), and representatives from HPCL and FCI. FCI Manager Pulkit Maheshwari informed that their warehouse can accommodate up to 200 heavy vehicles, while daily tokens are issued to about 80 vehicles. He assured that no vehicles are parked on roads outside the warehouse. HPCL representative Kamlesh Sahu stated that a new parking facility for 200 vehicles is under construction and will be operational within two months. Currently, vehicles are being temporarily parked in the under-construction area. Once completed, vehicles parked outside the depot on roads will not be permitted entry into premises.

 

Transport and police officials issued clear instructions to warehouse and depot managers to prevent road parking. Violators will face severe consequences: Vehicles found parked in no-parking zones will face e-challan action and repeated violations (more than three instances) will result in permit cancellation for vehicles and suspension of drivers’ licenses. Following the meeting, the interceptor vehicle team cleared illegally parked vehicles from the service road. Twelve tanker/truck vehicles were issued e-challans for parking violations. In light of a recent road accident in Jaipur, officials emphasized the strict implementation of safety standards at depots and warehouses. Depot operators were directed to ensure compliance with all regulations to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow. The meeting underscores the commitment of the Transport and Police Departments to enhance road safety and streamline parking in industrial zones.
