Officials directed to complete construction of PMAY houses soon

 

Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) Commissioner Sumit Agrawal conducted a surprise inspection of houses being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) under DMC limits. He reviewed the progress of the work and issued necessary directives to the officials present. Officials and employees of the PMAY as well as persons from the agency concerned were also present during the inspection. The Commissioner inspected several under construction PMAY houses at Urla and asked to complete the remaining work at the earliest so that the fourth installment can be transferred into the bank accounts of beneficiaries.

 

He said that the amounts are being transferred depending upon the progress of the construction work. On PMAY’s component scheme AHP, he said that those who have deposited 50% amount and have been allotted houses, their works should be done with priority. He instructed to complete the construction of such blocks within prescribed time limit so that the beneficiaries can be shifted in houses. Also, he issued directives to the officials to first complete the construction work of roads leading to the houses so that the beneficiaries can come and inspect their houses. He also directed to ensure them that the windows, doors, taps, pipe, wash basin etc are properly installed while cautioning that in case of any shortcoming, the agency will be held responsible. Those present with the Commissioner included Sachin Tamrakar, Pritesh Verma, Engineer Praveen Sahu, Rakesh Sahu, Amit Tamrakar, Lokesh Kumar and others.
