Intensifying its probe into the massive Rs. 2200 crore Chhattisgarh liquor scam, the Enforcement Directorate Raipur Zonal Office (ED-RPZO) conducted extensive search and seizure operations across Sukma, Raipur, and Dhamtari districts. The raids, part of the probe into the Rs. 2200 crore liquor scam, targeted premises linked to former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, his son Harish Lakhma, and their associates. These operations revealed substantial evidence, including documents and electronic devices, raising questions about financial irregularities and misuse of public funds.
In Sukma, ED teams conducted searches for over eight hours at three locations.
The premises included properties linked to Harish Lakhma, Sukma Municipal Council head Jagannath Raju Sahu, and contractor Ramsharan Singh Bhadauria. “We seized multiple electronic devices and crucial documents, including mobile phones, which will be analysed further,” ED officials privy to the search-ops told The Hitavada. All individuals involved have been summoned to Raipur for detailed questioning.
